Rio Rancho's planned flood-control improvements could cost residents : Local : Albuquerque Tribune: "RIO RANCHO — Rio Rancho plans to make improvements to some neighborhoods hit by monsoon-fueled floods in 2006, but the city wants residents to foot the bill: about $13,000 per household.
The improvements, which would affect about 5,000 homes, would include paved roads, gutters, storm drainage and sewers. The cost to homeowners would be determined by what improvements were made on their street."

Rio Rancho - Boundary drawn for high schools

Rio Rancho Observer Online: "After several months of discussion, the boundary line has been drawn for Rio Rancho High School and Cleveland High School attendance areas.
The decision wasn’t much of a surprise, nor is the line: Northern Boulevard.
Those living north of Northern Boulevard will be in the attendance area for Cleveland High, slated to open in time for the 2009-10 school year — except for members of the Class of 2010, who will remain at RRHS."

City of Rio Rancho Library Receives Architectural Award

El Mirado series features three new floorplans in Loma Colorado

Pulte Homes unveiled another model series at its new Loma Colorado community. The El Mirador series features three new floorplans modeled at the community and open for touring daily along with the other 12 models.

This brings the Loma Colorado model park to a total of 15 models — the largest model park in New Mexico. The El Mirador series includes single story homes ranging in size from 1,511 to 1,780 square feet, with three or four bedrooms depending on the plan, two-car garages and priced from the high 180,000s."

Compromise reached in trucking ordinance

The Observer Online: "Truck drivers and the people who don’t like seeing the trucks parked in residential neighborhoods seemed to have struck a compromise.

The Rio Rancho City Council unanimously approved the first reading of a truck parking ordinance, prohibiting parking commercial vehicles more than 22 feet long and weighing more than 10,000 pounds on residential property."

Professional rodeo coming to Santa Ana Star Center

Rio Rancho's new V. Sue Cleveland High School is going up according to schedule, but funding has not yet been found for the roads leading to it.
Sources at the Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education say they are working on a solution and that the roads will be completed by the time the doors of the school are scheduled to open, in August 2009.

The Department of Public Safety, Sandoval County Code Enforcement and 36 volunteers with Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful cleaned up more than 12-1/2 tons of waste from mesas in the Kings Park area.
The volunteers drove their 4-wheel drive vehicles throughout the mesa on Saturday picking up illegally dumped garbage."

This meeting will take place on December 10 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of Eagle Ride Middle School (800 Fruta Rd.). The city’s Department of Public Works is proposing to make improvements to Northern Blvd. between Acorn Loop to 35th Court (approximately 2 miles). The purpose of this project is to improve traffic conditions for expected growth and development in this area. Project alternatives will include curb and gutter, median, and sidewalk improvements."
