UNM Rio Rancho town hall set - New Mexico Business Weekly:: "The University of New Mexico will hold a Lobo Town Hall on the Higher Education Initiative on Saturday, Feb. 23, in Rio Rancho.
UNM calls the initiative the first step in creating a four-year UNM campus in Rio Rancho. The initiative, which will be on the ballot in the March 4 Rio Rancho Municipal Election, asks voters to choose an increase of 0.25 percent in the gross receipts tax to help pay for infrastructure improvements and land acquisition. The University of New Mexico will hold a Lobo Town Hall on the Higher Education Initiative on Saturday, Feb. 23, in Rio Rancho.

The Official Site of Rio Rancho, NM - SAD 7:

"The Governing Body passed a resolution (Speical Assessment Resolution 3 in accordance with state law) creating SAD 7A and directs the City of Rio Rancho to obtain competitive bids from qualified contractors for construction of improvements in SAD 7A. Area included in SAD 7A includes proposed improvements in Unit 10, (excepting 16th Ave. and 19th Ave.) in Unit 13, Gazelle and Spring Roads, and in Unit 16 between the Cabezon development and Southern Boulevard.

This resolution also creates SAD 7B which comprises the Unit 20 area of SAD 7 (Nacelle and Nagoya Roads) and the contiguous Unit 13 and Unit 17 area of SAD 7 bound generally on the west by 40th Street; on the north by Paseo del Volcan; 28th Avenue and Idalia Road; on the east by NM 528 and the limits of the Los Rios neighborhood; and on the south by Northern Blvd. SAD 7B will receive approximately two months of additional study and review involving city staff, the SAD engineer Wilson and Company Inc., and property owners. Recommendations concerning SAD 7B will be considered in a subsequent resolution."

Protests, comments, and questions could be submitted in writing by January 9, 2008 to Office of the City Clerk as well.

In conjunction with the SAD 7 process protests, questions, and comments submitted in writing or verbally stated at the January public Benefit Hearing were to be responded to by Wilson and Company, Inc. via written report and available as public record. Similar questions asked as part of this process would be grouped together and provided as one answer."
