Rio Rancho May Get A Movie Theater

For residents of Rio Rancho who’ve been patiently waiting for their own movie theater, the wait may be coming to an end. Economic growth is the main goal for Rio Rancho’s future and the recent approval for tax increment development regarding an upscale retail site called the Village at Rio Rancho gives the future for a multi movie complex hope.

Will Rio Rancho home values & property taxes change?

For homeowners in neighboring Bernalillo County, property taxes for homes sold since 2001 have experienced some shocking increases in their bills.  New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is considering a constitutional amendment to address this so called "tax lightening" which has struck these home owners.

We hope that some of the homes sold that experienced huge jumps in the amount of property tax which they now pay will find some relief through the Governors proposal.

Rio Rancho... Hot off the press... Here's a photo of the current status of Paseo del Vulcan near the area of Chayote Road.
Darlene & I drove the dirt path of Progress Blvd today and could see the future Paseo del Vulcan road under construction. There are numerous culverts and bridges going in and lots of new dirt all the way to Enchanted Hills. As of today, there road contractor is ahead of schedule and they are expecting to finish PDV in about 430 more days... Wow, talk about A City of Vision!

We are thinking that we'll see new homes and more development along this path in the next few years. Let us know if we can help you find land or a home.

Homes and retiring or moving to Rio Rancho, New Mexico

Back when Rio Rancho was formed, there really weren't any homes to retire to... as the developer was selling land and the promise of a great community. Now Rio Rancho is a thriving City with great home options for all. Whether looking for a retirement property, or a large home for a bustling family, Rio Rancho has it all. We see many home buyers seeking out Rio Rancho not only for the great climate, but for affordable housing, a safe community, and great schools.

We've worked with many buyers lately looking to retire in New Mexico, and many have chosen Rio Rancho. If you're thinking of retiring here, let us show you the options. They range from home in great neighborhoods, to homes on some land, to homes in 55+ neighborhoods. Right now we have a great home for sale in Golden West. It's a rare 3 bedroom home situated in a great location. Golden West is patio type homes and a percentage of residents must be over 55.

Good news for Rio Rancho home owners needing to sell their home on a 'short sale'. The Treasury Department has released guidelines for the banks to follow along with timelines for response. This should help greatly in speeding up the home sale process for those sellers with looming foreclosure.
