The Albuquerque Journal, Rio Rancho and Westside edition, reports the City of Rio Rancho is considering a variety of ideas to help with their budget shortfall. One of the ideas under consideration is red light cameras. While other Cities seem to be getting lots of revenue from red light cameras, there are also instances where the cameras are being challenged and removed.
With the slow down in home sales and real estate, the City has less revenue than projected. They did raise property taxes a few years ago which should have helped, but we all know this is also under review.
