Homes and Land in Rio Rancho

Wow!  The Tax Credits are really helping to sell homes.  We have been busy working with many buyers looking for a home.  The homes in the lower prices - like under $175,000 - are selling.  For homes under $130,000 we're seeing them go pending quickly with competition for them.  It's a great time to be a buyer or seller of homes as the interest rates remain low, and homes are more affordable.  We have worked with many buyers taking advantage of foreclosed and bank owned homes.  While they are sold "as-is" they are usually a pretty good deal.  Right now, Fannie Mae is offering to help buyers with their closing costs and reduced prices for appliances.

If your looking to buy or sell a home, we're #1 at Keller Williams Realty and will work hard for you.  Call or email today.

Rio Rancho jobs at Hewlett Packard

Hewlett-Packard (HP) in Rio Rancho New Mexico will hold a career fair on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Santa Ana Star Center, 3001 Civic Center Circle.
HP is seeking applications to fill positions at their new Rio Rancho facility as technical solution consultants, inside sales representatives, inside sales trainees, and inside pre-sales solutions architects.

When searching the Hewlett Packard website, it shows that there are 172 job openings! This must be good for the Rio Rancho housing market as HP continues to hire and transfer current employees. If you need to sell a house, HP should continue to help the home sales market in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque.

Paseo del Volcan Extension Moving Along Nicely

Rio Rancho residents will be thrilled to know the Paseo del Volcan road extension is progressing quite nicely. Anticipated completion is February of 2011. This extension will help Rio Rancho and Sandoval county residents move about the city in a timelier manner. This improvement will help with better access to Cleveland High School and the City Center. The City Center is home to Rio Rancho’s City Hall, Santa Ana Arena and Hewlett Packard. Under construction at the City Center is the CNM Rio Rancho Campus & UNM West Campus with UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center coming. Rio Ranchoans are grateful for this improvement to its infrastructure and hope for more to come.

Rio Rancho NM Desalination Plant for Water

Rio Rancho boldly spent money to search for water last year on the western edge of their City. They did indeed find water, however, it was brackish water in the aquifer. In the San Ysidro Area I've known the water to be brackish as well.

The City of Rio Rancho is now moving forward in planning a Desalination Plant to make the water in this aquifer usable. To me, this is once again showing that Rio Rancho is a "City of Vision". Planning for the City's future water needs even before there is a need seems wise.

With land plentiful in Rio Rancho, we expect the next 25 years to see great growth in homes and population. Having the water resource to allow this growth is very forward thinking.

Rio Rancho considering ban of Pet Store sales of Dogs and Cats

There are at least two Pet Stores in Rio Rancho, NM, that would be impacted if the City moves forward with the ban on the sale of dogs and cats at pet stores. These store owners say if enacted, the ban could put them out of business. In addition, they say they do not buy their dogs and cats from puppy mills.

Also under consideration is mandatory spay and neuter policy, and or requiring microchips in dogs and cats.

The task force recommending changes has been working on this proposal for over a year.
